I know “unforgettable” is a strong word one must use sparingly, but I just can’t seem to find the right word to describe how I (and probably everyone else who witnessed THE wedding) felt as Mimi and Karl finally walked the walk.
We all know these two have this thing about details, right? So naturally, theirs was impeccable! Okay, let me mention some of it. First of all, it all took place in Boracay - ’nuff said. Second, their get-ups done by Veluz and Niko, magnificent. And their rides? Whoa! But that is all I’m spilling, the rest of the result of their love affair with details you’ll see in the video.
Some Side Stories
- It was raining up until 9am. Then it was one sun, shiny day. The weather was perfect.
- It all started at the Discovery Shores. One crazy preps in one beeeauuuutiful place!
- The short wedding ceremony at the Elizalde’s private beach resort is the most intimate I’ve seen. Okay, and I almost cried when the two had their first kiss. Almost.
- Most of Mimi and Karl’s guests walked (Jon rode a tricycle) from the Elizalde’s to Discovery Shores. The sight of well-dressed people walking and blending in with beachbums in their beach outfits is something I’ll describe as, well, a walk to remember.
- The reception, I was told (’coz I was tucked away editing. Hehe), was superbly handled by the man I appointed as Karl’s “Honorary Best Man” and self-proclaimed “Destination Host” (DH for short), our very own CJ Lagman.
- Jill Lejano and Jake Verzosa - Superb! It was great playing, I mean working, with these guys.
- The music from Johnoy … coolness! His performance is awesome!
M+K’s SDE
Okay, remember the Sunset Chillout (small get-together overflowing with hotdogs, longgaburgers etc.) I mentioned in my previous post? Well, I started the vid with a clip taken that night. A clip inspired by beach scenes from Pinoy movies in the 80’s and … alcohol. Yes, everyone just went ballistic that night after downing a couple of bottles. It was game on and a helluva fun night. Alcohol indeed. Haha
With Nada Surf’s “I Like What You Say” fittingly playing in the background, this vid proves that all of Mimi and Karl’s intensive preparation leading to this day really paid off. It was one happy day. Oh, and we also had that 80’s wedding-vid-money-shot revisited, a kulitan moment I can’t help but include in their on-site. Hehe
Unforgettable may not be the right word, but there’s no greater word I can think of at this very moment. Guess I have to settle with it … for now.

oh well, i enjoyed the preps super, its not an ordinary preps nga lang, you know, doing the makeup for mimi and lem… I dont know how to describe the video ha, yes its cheeeezzzzyy, and naks with matching takbuhan not to mention the wonder woman scene? i have to admit it pasok tlga eh! it was tastefully done!!! pagbabalik na ba ni wonder woman ito??? tho im kinda disappointed where is the m+k on mimi’s forehead? wahahaha! The wedding of Mimi and Karl is definitely one of the highlights of my career. The friendship with this lovely couple is something I will always treasure. Boracay is the perfect backdrop for this perfect wedding. Congratulations to all the supplier-friends who made this wonderful wedding possible. I really got teary eyed when Mimi started walking. She was a vision of sheer happiness and overflowing love. Karl’s vow is certainly one of the most heartwarming vows I have heard.

I definitely agree with you Bong. I’ve been thinking of a better word to describe this wedding, but no amount of superlatives can suffice. This is the wedding with just the bestest, not just because of what was seen but because of what was felt.

Muli, Threelogy boys & gels, maraming maraming salamat sa makulit na onsite. Ilang beses ko nang pinapanood. Pero yung asawa ko (asawa? naks!), mas maraming beses na niyang pinanood, eto paulit-ulit. Sabi sa inyo, siya talaga yung bride eh.
Kita nyo naman, mahal ko talaga kayo. Alam kong gusto nyo talagang ipagawa sa mga brides nyo yung pagda-Darna pero nahihiya lang kayong magsabi sa kanila. At least ngayon, alam na nila what to expect from your style di ba? BWAHAHAHA!
