Let’s take a “wedding” break and focus on these two lovely girls.

You see, we’re very good friends with W@W’s John and Benz Rana. The connection goes all the way back to the mid-90s when we (CJ, John and I) worked in a telecoms company. And of course, we met Benz, who was still John’s girlfriend, during that time.

Kite the eldest. I am Kite’s ‘”honorary” ninong. No I wasn’t handpicked when she actually got baptised. I guess it’s something about me not being a good Ninong material, a trait I believe I share with John, which doesn’t bother us in any way. But two years ago (I think), John officially inducted me as Kite’s honorary ninong. About time, I said.

Laya the youngest. As the cliche goes, we all welcomed Laya to the Christian world at around 2pm in Santuario de San Antonio. Attended only by a handful of Benz and John’s relatives and friends (most of whom stood as ninongs and ninangs), it was small but very intimate.

And since we’re in the wedding industry, it was only proper that the entire thing play out just like a wedding (Check out Kite’s 7th Birthday on-site AVP here). The preparation took place at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the ceremony (Laya’s baptism) at the Santuario de San Antonio while The Blue Leaf hosted the reception.

The ceremony, as I mentioned earlier, was small and intimate. But the “reception”? That’s another story, because it is handsdown one of the biggest and grandest birthday/baptism party I ever witnessed. The Blue Leaf’s two major wings/ballroom were used. One side for the adults and one side for the teens and kids. Kids had their hands full with all the activities waiting for them. The decors/styling was top notch and the food awesome. And after all has been said and done, I can only conclude that Benz do know how to throw a party!

And as always, thanks John, Benz, Kite and now Laya for making Threelogy a part of your family.

Monitor Episode 3

We’ve been planning on doing another episode not one day after the last one was shot. But for some reason, none of the plans materialized. That is until CJ and Ira’s wedding came around the corner - a perfect excuse to do one and surprise them on their big day.

Here you’ll see CJ’s go-to-song if ever the need to showcase his voice arises, his current favorite and his all-time fave that made him a videoke legend. And with the team in full force and joined by some of our closest friends, this is definitely the biggest installment of Monitor to date.

SDE

CJ was busy getting married while Jon and I were busy enjoying ourselves, so we left the entire SDE thing at the hands of our capable team. And these guys made us proud!

Jinjie and Ela are both based in the US and we never got the chance to meet them prior to their wedding.

But we did get the chance to meet Mrs. Eva Ramos, Ela’s wonderful mom,who as far as I can tell handled all the preparations and negotiations (with unmatched enthusiasm) with regards to this wedding. In fact, Ela’s dad even joked that Mrs. Eva is the real bride.

But at the end of it all, everyone watched and listened as Jinjie and Ela took over the world last July 10th.

A surreal wedding in an exceptionally beautiful island with the majestic Mayon lurking in the background.

Add to that the fact that the chapel, where the ceremony was held, was finished and used for the very first time in a wedding.

Yeah that’s nice, very nice in fact. But not nice enough for them to overshadow one of the craziest and nicest couple we ever met - Apple and Diday.

And this is their Misibis Bay wedding with Train playing “Hey Soul Sister” in the background.

The countdown to Francis and Issa’s wedding started a few weeks before the actual date, when the two hosted a dinner/get together/inuman for their suppliers. The food, which was cooked and prepared by Francis’ tita, was great, the company even better.

And as soon as their guests, who all partied really hard, left the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula on the night of the wedding  - the countdown to twenty kids started!

Oh, and the song used in this SDE wasn’t their first choice, Issa had it replaced the night after her bridal shower took place. Hmmmm I wonder why. Haha

FrancIssa, you guys are the best!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Shangri-La Boracay is stunning, indeed.

But we can’t deny the fact that Carlo and Jo, having their wedding at the resort, more than doubled Shangri-La’s beauty that day.

And here’s the cool couple’s Massive Attack wedding SDE.

We found ourselves heading east one day after covering Joel and Immarian’s wedding. And with the amount of trips we’ve been doing lately, it’s just proper that we pay a visit to Antipolo City, where the Marian image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage resides.

And after witnessing Sherwin and Kat’s wedding ceremony at the Mango Farm, I can definitely say that they make each other happy!

Congrats Sherwin and Kat!

One thing I proved in this visit to Baguio City - You Can’t Beat the Heat!

But being surrounded by blooming flowers, towering pine trees and a couple so kind and crazy in one neat package made it all so different.

Wonderfully different.
